The managers of the family-run company are proud of the start of this new chapter. According to Catherine Pichette, moving to a bigger place became necessary: “The growth of our company was limited at our current location. From the offices, to production or the warehouse, the lack of space was soon going to create limitations for us.”

Against all expectations, the chance to buy land near their current location in Blainville finally occurred after two years of searching: “It was very timely! We were looking for bigger, but we couldn’t do it and force a change of location on our employees. It was essential that we stay nearby!”

A Gain in Space and Quality of Life for Their Employees

With this investment, the company’s headquarters will move from a 21,000-square-foot area to 36,000 square feet. The project designers came up with an up-to-date building that is perfectly adapted to the company’s requirements, which will greatly improve the employees’ quality of life.

Because of its steady growth, Calefactio regularly creates new jobs. The managers foresee that the move will allow the company to continue this trend, with an estimated increase in activities between 20% and 25% per year. An expansion plan for this is in the works: “The chosen land corresponds to the company’s future requirements, as we can expand the building.”

For the interior layout, many areas are planned for the employees’ well-being, such as a lounge area, a nice patio for summer barbecues, and a gym. “Promoting sports and health with our employees is important to us. In addition to aligning with our philosophy, the gym will allow employees to connect. (Catherine Pichette)

The building will also comply with high standards related to the environment and the use of energy resources. Furthermore, the managers want to implement innovative technologies for energy efficiency. Calefactio products will be incorporated in the building. A radiant heating system is planned that will be integrated in the concrete floor on two levels, allowing for optimal comfort with evenly distributed heat.
